Who's making me think in energy, outside the energy transition camp?

Who's making me think in energy, outside the energy transition camp?
I think we in the climate & energy transition camp need to better understand the "bigger energy picture".
The same way as venture capital is just drop in the ocean of financial markets, clean energy needs to function within the larger energy market.
Big themes in energy to follow:
- Asian energy demand (especially China) is growing rapidly
- Oil markets are in trouble
- Energy has become a geopolitical weapon
- Energy transition and sanctions are a bad mix
Here are some writers / commentators that make me think:
Helen Thompson, Author of Disorder. Great book, wanted to reread it over the Christmas but could not find my copy (nomen its omen). If you don't have time for reading books, search spotify or YouTube for Helen's recent interviews.
Doomberg, the green chicken - Small team of energy & resource management consultants that reinvented their business during covid by launching a must-read substack newsletter. The newsletter is for subscribers only, but totally worth the monthly payment.
Art Berman - geologist analysing the oil market. Like it or not, but oil & gas market developments shake the world of energy transition too. Oil market instability spells trouble in money markets (think how the finance market for energy ventures looked in 2023 to get an idea).
